SideNotes is a sidebar that fills one side of your Mac screen with notes. Whether it’s text, code, or images, SideNotes handles it all, making important information accessible at any time. To make things easier, you can organize your notes into customizable folders, assign colors, and add tags to tasks. One place for everything that really matters.

Distracting Notes
A blog post, a snippet of code, or recently uploaded images—you can save them all to your desktop with SideNotes. And the best part is, you won’t even notice they’re there! The app works like a pop-up menu, directing your attention to your notes only when you need them.
Dynamic Viewing Options
Remember, the app isn’t designed to be distracting. Therefore, you’ll need to choose when and on which side of the screen it appears. Open Preferences and choose one of two desktop locations: left or right. You can also hide or show SideNotes using keyboard shortcuts or by clicking.
Programmable API
SideNotes supports code with a fixed font width. All characters have the same width, so you don’t need to change the font. You can copy and paste a snippet of code into the SideNotes window while you’re working. You can use a specific color to better organize your code notes.
Markdown Formatting
When creating a note, you can choose your desired format: code, plain text, or standard (Markdown) formatting. Standard (Markdown) formatting offers various options, such as adding headings or enclosing text in quotation marks. Everything you paste is automatically formatted.
Your Completed To-Do List
With SideNotes, you can get things done much more easily. A key feature: create and manage to-do lists within your notes. You can add checkboxes to your to-do list by clicking the “Text Format” button.
Sharing Your Notes
SideNotes keeps your notes private unless you choose to share them. The app supports various sharing options, including messages, reminders, notes, and Dropshare. You can add more at any time. Simply click the “Share” button in the upper left corner of your note.
